INTIMATE WITH GOD

This first level has been proven by science that, Hormones, such as oxytocin, surge in mothers after labor and during breast-feeding, promoting social and emotional bonding with the infant. And in babies, just being touched spurs the release of the same compound, helping them, in turn, bond with their moms and other care takers. This is according to Scientific American. This is to show that Human beings are intimate animals. And it starts right from birth!

Just like the intimacy between a mother and her child

Everyone at a point, craves for intimacy. God has prepared an experience of intimacy for every human and even animals. These level of experiential intimacy starts when we give birth and we’re given birth to.

Now the next level of intimacy we were made to crave for, is sexual intimacy during marriage and Marriage in itself. This level is the second level of intimacy we must need experience as human beings. More happens during sex than just a momentary experience of pleasure. When we are intimate, chemicals are released in our brains that bond us together. Vasopressin is primarily released in male brains and oxytocin primarily in females. Also in Marriage, two different people, unified with the mind of Jesus, comes together to become one in God. Through marriage, intimacy is established. And people can have access into each other without fear of restraint and rejection.

The third and most important level is our Intimacy with JESUS! Hallelujah! And this is my favorite part. I have no control over the first level of intimacy, which is between a mother and child. Because the mother can choose to respond to the love and bond the child needs or not. Which effectively creates a vacuum in the child. So in Isaiah 49:15, the Bible says; Can a woman forget her sucking child, that she should not have compassion on the son of her womb? yea, they may forget, yet will I not forget thee.” This is to say mothers can leave their children when they need them most at birth.

The second level of Intimacy has been under attack since Eve was introduced in the life of Adam. Through this level of intimacy, which is marriage, sim came into the world. The Devil has attacked marriages and keeps attacking and I am sure until Jesus, our bridegroom comes, satan would never stop. That is why you have to be very careful who you marry.

Now lets glean into our Intimacy with GOD. We have learnt a bit about intimacy, in the preceding paragraphs. Our intimacy with God actually comprises both with our parents being pregnant with us, to the concept of marriage, where in, we are married to Jesus, He is our bridegroom. God’s idea of intimacy is oneness. He wants us to be one with him. So in Gen 1:26, God said let’s us make man into our image and likeness. Yes! We were made to look like Him and to operate like Him. But sin did all it could to separate us from this bond until Jesus, came to die for us. You can’t be intimate with God without having His interest, or having him at heart. Its all starts with constant communication and obedience with God. God’s true intent is to fellowship with you so much that we are one with Him.

I remember how my intimate journey with Jesus started. It started at the balcony of Queens hall in KNUST. I used to sit there only studying the Word of God. These seasons shaped my understanding about God. I gained many personal revelations and insight. I became intimate with Him. That intimacy has kept me from harm and distractions. Because I hear and see Him in everything. Will you dare to get intimate with God? It is your surest security.

WOMAN, ACTIVATE THE FILTER!

The world has only three focal points. And we can find them in John 10:10.. And Satan does everything around these three things. His mission statement is here. To steal, kill and to destroy!

A woman who takes it all in without a filter is a woman in danger! That woman is prone to distraction, shame, pain and eventually death!

“The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.”
‭‭John‬ ‭10‬:‭10‬ ‭KJV‬‬
https://bible.com/bible/1/jhn.10.10.KJV

And he is described as a liar and the father of all liars in John 8:44

You belong to your father, the devil, and you want to carry out your father’s desires. He was a murderer from the beginning, not holding to the truth, for there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks his native language, for he is a liar and the father of lies.

Satan, who is the ruler of this world, has always attacked and endeavored to distract, steal, kill and destroy us through lies. He lies to appeal to our conscience. He portrays dark things as light. He conceives deceit and delivers lies. The only way to catch him in his lies is by filtering every thing on earth and it’s experiences with the True and Living Word of GOD! What does GOD through His Word say about your decisions?

The truth is that the patterns of demonic schemes has barely changed. From the beginning, he appeared as a serpent to Eve and spewed lies of deceit to her. He showed up with a question which was clothed in lies. Check Genesis 3: 1-8

satan posed the same question to Jesus in Matthew 4:1-4. The difference between Eve and Jesus’s experience with satan’s lies was that one answered with the exact Words of God. Another misquoted and exaggerated. Whatever we hear, touch and encounter in this world, must pass through the filter of the Bible and the HolySpirit instead of Snapchat!

WHY SEARCH THE LIVING AMONGST THE DEAD

These were the words of the two angels to the women that had run to the tomb on the third day of Jesus’s death. The angels told the women, why are you looking for the living amongst the dead? This question from the angels to the women including Mary Magdalene, Joana and the rest got my attention while studying the scripture today as I write this blog around 2am GMT.

“They stood there puzzled about this, when suddenly two men in bright shining clothes stood by them. Full of fear, the women bowed down to the ground, as the men said to them, “Why are you looking among the dead for one who is alive? He is not here; he has been raised. Remember what he said to you while he was in Galilee:”
‭‭Luke‬ ‭24‬:‭4‬-‭6‬ ‭GNT‬‬
https://bible.com/bible/68/luk.24.4-6.GNT

The HolySpirit drew my attention to these words from the angels. And He asked me, how many times do we look for living things amongst the dead? Oh how I wowed at Him!

For me this revelation from the HolySpirit was a conviction and insight I personally needed for my life. But then I said to myself, many others need to hear this truth from God. Now I remember studying about living and non-living things in primary school. But I decided to look for a suitable definition for living things in this context.

Living things have a variety of characteristics that are displayed to different degrees: they respire, move, respond to stimuli, reproduce and grow, and are dependent on their environment.

THREE SKILLS JOURNALISM STUDENTS NEED BEFORE GRAD

The media space has become extremely competitive and congested over the past few years and this is as a result of the social media revolution, and as a journalism or multimedia student, you definitely need the below skills to get an employment spot in a media house.

Digital Media Management. some years ago, the world used to rely only on traditional and print media for information. But guess what, Bill Gate began changing the narrative after developing Microsoft. Then the digital economy started shaking tables. People wanted to have access to information even at their work offices and right infront of them was a computer! Renowned and globally competitive broadcasting houses like the BBC and CNN caught up with future and introduced website news. And today, you can even watch BBC news live on the go! So dear student, try and acquire some soft ware skills like website development. You can check out wordpress, godaddy and others.

Second most sought after skills you need is Camera or Videography Skills. Gone were the days when broadcasting houses would only employ someone who could only report, read or write. Unfortunately, a lot has changed especially in this global economic crunch. Currently, you’re competitive in the job market if you can write, read and cover your report as well as do the job of the videographer. You should be the type who can take videos of the scene or story as much as you can write and report. I bet you will be sent on a lot of assignments if you have this skill.

Lastly is good verbal and written skills. Yes! i’m sure you’re giggling at this. Like which journalism student can’t read and write? well, i’m sorry to burst your bubbles! many can’t! Not everyone who can read, can write properly, and not everyone who can write, can read. If you want to be good at something, you must learn how to do it but if you want to be preferred above others, you must master it!

I hope these three nuggets has been helpful? Let me know in the comment section. Kindly follow me on instagram @gloryboateng_ for more daily tips. You can send me an email here, gloryboatengofficial@gmail.com . Thank you

Why Few Ghanaian Women Go Global

8th March 2020 was dedicated to celebrating women globally. This year’s celebration had the theme being aligned with UN Women’s new campaign, Generation Equality. In Africa and especially Ghana, it was not much of a hullabaloo as the day fortunately or unfortunately fell on a Sunday. A reserved religious day and resting day for others.

But as a Global citizen, I got myself thinking about why there aren’t a lot of Global Women coming from this side of the continent, Ghana 🇬🇭. I took my phone and began to surf for global Ghanaian Women. And sadly, I couldn’t find a lot, not to even calculate the percentage of my findings.

But I’d still use this opportunity to commend women making global impacts like, Lucy Quist, Ghana’s first Female CEO of a telco, former Airtel and former vice chair of Fifa’s normalization committee.

Charlotte Kesson-Smith Osei, who is UN International Elections Commissioner, and Ghana’s first Female and Former Electoral Commissioner. You might be wondering why i mentioned just these two. These are some of the two people whose position affected decision making at the global level.

I want to appreciate extraordinary women like Gloria Akuffo, who is Ghana’s current Attorney General and Minister for Justice. She lead the team of of lawyers at the International Tribunal for the law of the Sea ITLOS in hamburg, Germany to uphold Ghana’s Position on the maritime boundary dispute between Ghana and Cote d’ivoire. Which Ghana eventally won. I am also sure there are other women making global impacts. But my question is, how many are they?

And why are we not able to go Global easily?

And I am scared it will only continue to get worst if something radically good and progressive doesn’t happen. Can we talk about some of the women who dare to climb global or better still make global changes go through as they start in Ghana.

Initially, the most popular factor or reason was our culture, which tend to favor men the more. Our joy was that education or literacy could half way solve this. Unfortunately these beliefs creeped into the mindset of both men and even majority of our women. One of the popular sayings were “women are their own enemies”.

Religiously, statement like “women are the weaker vessels” were taken to even the board room. Hence, positions like secretary were given to women at the boardroom meeting. Some of them even brought the scripture in the Bible, “women submit to your husbands” to the work place, even when the women there were their colleagues or even bosses. Some men claim submission at our offices even when they are not our husbands. Obviously abusing the Good Word of God.

When a woman makes a contribution, she’s termed emotional.

Some say we should focus more on our bodies. No wonder we have more women even pursuing makeup artististry after their first degree.

I have practically met too many men at the work place who always doubt my competence. Some of them can even accuse you of sleeping with the boss, when you’re promoted.

In our culture and systems, it is believed that all the woman can do is follow and not lead. So just a few women hold management positions in some of Ghana’s leading companies.

The issue of marriage is another reason why some women don’t even want to fight to get to the global map of influence. I remember my lovely uncle advicing me to hide my portfolio from men so that I can get them to propose to me. As funny as that may sound, it is the reality on the ground. Ambitious women sometimes have to compromise with their dreams so that they can be easily noticed as quite, calm and reserved by a potential partner.

Well, in the coming years, I hope to see more women from Ghana, being globally celebrated. And oh, I will be one!..

Happy post International Women’s Day to all women. Cheers to our dreams.

The Merchant Woman

From the lines and precepts of Proverbs 31 and Matthew 13:45-46. I am convinced that God didn’t only call women to become life companions to our husbands but to also thrive with our hands.

In Proverbs 31:13-14, the bible says, ”She seeketh wool, and flax and worketh willingly with her hands. She is like the merchants’ ships; she bringeth her food from afar.(NKJV). Here, we see that one of the divine mandate of a godly woman is the art of merchant. As Christian women, we have the inherent capability of working not only as career women but more importantly, entrepreneurs.

Women Don’t Search for husbands, Men Finds Wives.

As God uses the word ‘searcheth’ for man in Proverbs 18:22, ”He who finds a wife, finds a good thing and obtaineth favor in the sight of God”. In Proverbs 31:10, ” Who can find a virtuous woman? for her price is far above rubies. These scriptures makes me believe that as women, we are not mandated to even search for the men of our dreams, but for them to find us. And one of the easiest sign for them in choosing us is our ability to find something to do with our hands.

The bible said in Matthew 13:45 ” Again, the Kingdom of Heaven is like unto a merchant seeking a godly pearls: Who, when he had found one pearl of great price, went and sold all he had, and bought it. Here, i see God liking the Merchant Man to Jesus, who gave his life for man, just so we could be saved and have our inheritance back. But i also see, the merchant man likened to man who was searching for a wife, found her as a pearl, and sold all he had for the woman even though the bible says our worth is far above rubies.

As daughters of Zion, one of our primary mandate which is not even gender specific is to work with our hands, especially in serving God in his house. And in every field we endeavor to pursue, we must strive to do it well by the Grace of God. So we can we take care of our families and other people. Be a Merchant Woman Today! or better put, Have an entrepreneurial mindset and you will be found easily!

Please don’t forget to comment. i would love to know what you think?
